This entrepreneurial venture began in a territory that is tightly connected with furniture-making traditions: the Brianza. This part of Lombardy is one of Italy’s most prolific and active regions. The company’s identity is inevitably interwoven with the history of a dream that started at the end of the 1920’s, and which continues today, reaching solid market goals.
Just like the best Italian stories, the idea of one man – Angelo Turati – become a reality in a small furniture workshop that immediately set itself apart thanks to the excellence of his products, soon earning the respect of those who love Italian artisan workmanship. Angelo Turati had the visionary insight to create a company buttressed to tradition, yet aiming towards the future, destined to grow rapidly through the foundation of a the business framework managed by his son Umberto, who later paired up with his cousin Fulvio, giving life to the Turati Cugini company. Well-planned entrepreneurial strategy has defined this company, starting in the 1960s through the participation in the world’s most prestigious furnishing fairs: Cologne, Paris, and Brussels just to name a few of the international showcases where Turati Cugini has expressed that unmistakable soul through its products. This work is wonderfully sealed with the company’s yearly participation in the Milan Furniture Fair since it’s beginnings.

furnishings that the company reached in the 1980s are now the fuel behind the rapid growth that Turati Cugini has undergone, growing and moving from the original headquarters in Cabiate to the nearby city of Mariano Comense, the heart and soul of the art of furniture making, renowned the world over.
With the passing of the time, the company has experienced the handing-over of the baton with the entrance of Engineer Elio Turati and Mr Flavio Turati, enhancing the group with the know-how of men-entrepreneurs who have been leading Turati towards success – Turati Cugini is connoted with the Turati Boiseries name, which better underlines the company’s core business. These have been years of small and great achievements, from the local area to world: Turati Boiseries needed just a few years to become an industry leader, gaining the trust of numerous European markets. In the past two decades, the company in Mariano Comense has been able to face an evolving market and consistently ride current trends thanks to solid investments in technology, research, and human resources, a guarantee in historical furniture-making tradition. The company’s expansion in Italy and around the world is the direct result of careful and thought-out planning based on the current dynamics of this industry.
